Little Big Shots Sydney Screening
August 2nd 2009
The Little Big Shots tour continues in September with Hugo's Sydney premiere.

Hugo will be screening in the Secondary Schools Programme (suitable for ages 12+):

Thursday 10th September at 11.30am

Expresión en Corto International Film Festival
July 15th 2009
We are thrilled to announce that the next screenings of Hugo will be in Mexico as part of the International Showcase of the Expresión en Corto International Film Festival in San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato, México.

Hugo will be screening twice:

Tuesday Jul 28 at 2PM (Teatro Santa Ana)
Wednesday Jul 29 at 8PM (MMCinemas - GTO)

The festival runs from July 24th to August 2nd, 2009.

Amsterdam Screening
June 1st 2009
Hugo will be screening along with a Q&A with director, Nicholas Verso, at the
Filmtheater Rialto in Amsterdam (Ceintuurbaan 338) on Wednesday June 10th at 7.30pm.

The screening is part of the Rialto Inspiration Night programme where short films are screened alongside talks by their creators. This session focuses on filmmakers taking part in the Binger Film Lab.

Hugo will screen alongside El Mourabbi (directed by Sacha Polak) and Desde el Fondo (directed by Adriana Montenegro).

Little Big Shots Melbourne Screenings
May 11th 2009
We're proud to announce Hugo will have 3 more Melbourne screenings as part of the Little Big Shots International Film Festival For Kids.

There are two screenings as part of the Schools Program:

Thursday June 4, 2009 at 1.25 - 2.25pm
Friday June 5, 2009 at 10 - 11am

And the final screening takes place as part of the Long Weekend Program:

Monday June 8, 2009 at 11.10am - 12.10pm

All screenings take place at the Australian Centre For The Moving Image, Federation Square, Melbourne.

Newport Beach Film Festival
April 15th 2009
We are delighted to announce that Hugo will be screening later this month in the Newport Beach Film Festival in the USA.

It will screen on Sunday, April 26, 2009
at 2:15pm as part of the Earth Day Shorts 2 programme and again on Monday, April 27, 2009 at 6:15pm as part of the Love Is Strange programme.

Congratulations Laszlo - Gold ACS Award

Chicago International Children's Film Festival
16th September 2008
We are proud to announce that Hugo's next screening will be as part of the Chicago International Children's Film Festival in October.

The Chicago International Children's Film Festival (CICFF) is the largest festival of films for children in North America features over 200 films from 40 countries and screens a wide range of projects from live action and animated features, to shorts, TV series, documentaries, and child-produced works.

Hugo will screen at 945am on Friday 31st October at Harold Washington Cultural Centre. Keep an eye on this website or http://cicff2008.org/ for more information on tickets.

Hugo success at Palm Springs
16th September 2008
Hugo had a fantastic response at Palm Springs International Short Film Festival in August. Director Nicholas Verso and producer Rita Walsh were both present for the screening.

Rachel Bowen wins AWGIE Award for Hugo
16th August 2008
Congratulations to Rachel Bowen who last night won the Australian Writers Guild Award for Best Short Film script for the screenplay of Hugo.
The AWGIES were presented at the annual awards night at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne last night.

Hugo wins Grand Prize for Fantasy Film at Rhode Island
August 11th 2008
Hugo has won the Grand Prize for Fantasy Film at Rhode Island International Film Festival in Providence, USA after a successful world premiere screening.

Producer Rita Walsh was present to accept the award on behalf of the team.

Next screening will be at Palm Springs Shortfest at 330pm on Friday 22nd August 2008.

Hugo - AWGIE nomination and USA Screenings
19th July 2008
Congratulations to Rachel Bowen, who has been nominated for an Australian Writers Guild Award for the screenplay of Hugo. The AWGIES will be announced in August. www.awg.com.au

We are also delighted to announce further details of Hugo's USA premieres in August.

It will first be screening as part of Rhode Island International Film Festival, the largest public film festival in New England and an Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences qualifying event. The festival will run between August 5 - 10 2008. Hugo is screening on Friday August 8th at 9:30pm. Further details www.film-festival.org

This will be closely followed by a screening as part of Palm Springs International ShortFest, the largest short film event in North America. This will run from August 21 - 27 2008. Screening details to follow in next few weeks.

Hugo at Short Film Corner

Hugo is participating in the Short Film Corner at Cannes over the next two weeks and Director Nicholas Verso will be in France to help promote the film and other projects he is developing. Preview screening
January 2008
Thanks to all the cast, crew, family and friends who attended the preview screening of Hugo at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image on January 9th. The response has been wonderful. We are now starting the merry trek to festivals and will hopefully be able to confirm more screening dates in the future. Stay tuned!
